EchosOfMe LLC ("we," "our," or "us") built Pester as a paid app with no ads, no accounts, and no cloud services. This Privacy Policy applies to the Pester app on both iOS and Android and explains how information is handled when you use it.
We do not collect any information whatsoever. Pester does not require an account, login, or registration. We do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal details. We do not operate any servers that receive data from the app.
Pester stores all reminder data locally on your device using the device's private filesystem. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. It includes:
This data is stored only on your device. We have no access to it, and it is not transmitted to any server.
Pester includes an optional backup feature that exports your reminder data as a JSON file via your device's native share sheet. You choose where to save this file — iCloud Drive, Files, Google Drive, Dropbox, email, or any app you prefer. We do not receive, process, or store this backup file. The backup goes directly from your device to the destination you choose; we are not involved in the transfer. The privacy policy of the destination you select governs the stored file.
Pester does not use any third-party services. There are no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting, no tracking pixels, no SDKs that phone home. The app runs entirely on your device with no network communication during normal use.
Pester uses your device's local notifications to fire your reminders. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device — they do not route through any server, and no push notification tokens or identifiers are transmitted to us or any third party.
Pester requests the permissions it needs to fire reminders reliably. These vary by platform and may include notifications, exact alarms, battery optimization exclusion, and the ability to restart scheduled reminders after a device reboot. No permission is used to collect, transmit, or share any data.
Pester is not directed at children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect any information from any user, no special data handling for children is required.
Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by uninstalling the app or using the app's settings to clear your data. We do not retain any data on our servers because we do not operate any servers.
Because we do not collect any data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete. Your data is entirely under your control on your own device.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
